Manuscript Holdings - Philosophy
All classical literature is elevating but Sanskrit has its own significance. The Vedas, Upnishads and other scriptures (Buddhist, Jain etc) which teach immorality to human beings, are contained in the platitude that the world famous mother land of India always remain glorious. Among the Sanskrit manuscripts preserved in the State Archives U.P. those pertaining to cultural and scientific subject on the different branches of knowledge are enumerated below:-

The following manuscripts are of historical and pauranic importance- the local legends of Prayag, Gaya, Ayodhya, Vindhya, Chitrakuta, Kuruksetra, Kedara, Varanasi, Mathura etc. gleaned from several Puranas. Also available are the recensions of Padma, Bhavisya, Kurma, Brahmavaivarta, Matsya, Ganesa, Vayu, Visnu, Bhagavata, Devi Bhagavata and Harivamsa Puranas. In addition to these are historical manuscripts of Sankaravijaya and Madhvavijaya. Of great importance is the historical text of Rajatarangini of Kalhana, the celebrated Kashmir chronicle. Among the illustrated manuscripts is a copy, dated 1794 A.D. of Ramcharitmanas of Gosvami Tulsidas, containing 400 beautiful paintings.
In the field of NYAYA and Mimamsa, the main significance are Naiyayika Mahadeva's Nyaya Kaustubha, Nyaya Sidhanta Manjari of Chudamani Bhattacharya and Nyaya Siddanta Muktavali of Visvanatha Panchanana.
The Radha Vinoda of Dinesa Kavi, has a commentary by Rama Candra. Prabodha Chandrodaya is an allegoric drama of Krisna Misra of the Court of the ruler of Jejaka Bhukti. Among the Sanskrit dramas, Prabodha Chandrodaya has got special features of presenting the abstract sentiments in the form of actors. This effort of the dramatist has become successful in the work.
The texts of the Chandraloka of Acharya Jaideva Piyush Varsa and the Gita Govinda of Mahakavi Jaideva, are also available.
